    Destination Weddings in the Smokies

    happily ever after

A blazing sun sinks into the mountains behind a husband and wife, sharing their first marital kiss. A bride holds a bouquet at her side as she gazes at the majestic Smoky Mountains, her veil gently blowing in a soft mountain breeze. These are just some of the breathtaking photos local photographers capture for newlyweds and lovebirds in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville every day.

Are you heading to the rolling hills of the Great Smoky Mountains for your wedding? Are you a local, planning your special day? There are hundreds of options to choose from, with a variety of choices awaiting you.

First, you have to decide on what time of year to be wed; the season you choose will be the backdrop for many of your photographs. From the vibrant oranges and yellows of autumn to the budding flowers of spring, to the green explosion of leaves in summer to the snowy vistas of winter, every season is beautiful in the Smokies. Your next decision will be to choose whether to be married indoors or outdoors. There are wedding chapels and cabins for interior weddings, and parks and outdoor wedding venues for open-air weddings. You could even get married in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! You must apply for a special permit at least two weeks before your wedding date, and follow specific guidelines outlined on the National Parks Services website.

There are many wedding services located in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. These services are especially helpful if you’re planning a destination wedding from out of state.  Keep in mind that you must get a Tennessee marriage license certificate to have a legal wedding in Tennessee. You can fill out a pre-application up to thirty days in advance of the wedding, and must pick it up in person with photo ID and both members of the couple to be wed.

The large number of weddings held in the Smoky Mountain region creates a bustling economy for photographers, bakers, and catering companies. Owning rental property is also a lucrative business opportunity. Are you interested in expanding into the Smokies? We have real estate listings in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. We have bought many houses and so many properties over the years. This is our first investment property and we work with Jared for probably four years to find the right property. I have to say this was the finest real estate experience we have ever . We had some negative experiences with a couple of other agents, Jared went above and beyond the call of duty, And we will certainly use him for all of our real estate agent future.”
