About Pigeon Forge

I remember driving through Pigeon Forge as a child, with me and my three sisters making a mad scramble for the potties at Hillbilly Village when we arrived after a long ride to the mountains.  Back then, that’s about all there was to Pigeon Forge, but bit by bit, it has changed over the years!  Now, Pigeon Forge is the epitome of a “family fun” town.  It makes a point of being just that, and embraces the tacky signage, neon lights and family-focused attractions that lead some to call it “Las Vegas for Kids”.  There’s every kind of t-shirt and souvenir shop on the main strip (US 66) that runs through town, but also some more serious entertainment.  Dollywood has grown into a major attraction, with over 6 million visitors annually.  In 2009 they will complete development on a new water attraction, adding a $5 million ride to the park. In addition, there are abundant shopping opportunities in town with every kind of outlet.  Upscale settings such as Tanger Five Oaks boasts Polo, Liz Claiborne, Waterford and the like.

Off the main strip, there are numerous rental cabin communities and investment properties that have been created with proximity to the “strip” in mind!

Driving around, you see smiling kids and smiling parents and grandparents in this town—just enjoying!
